move project website to OSAS

Description

After moving the website off OpenShift v2 in we can now start thinking about how to host it on v3. We have an internal instance ready but ideally we should host the actual site outside PHX.

I shut down the old VM and removed it, closing this ticket.

Great news! I can confirm I can access the website and it is hosted on an OSAS IP.

It is done.

The DNS is not fully propagated yet in all caches, so let's wait a day or two before removing the old VM and closing this ticket.

Since there's no public OpenShift offering suiting our needs at the moment it's a good option to move the website to OSAS to make it independent of the PHX infra.

We are now hosting the website on a dedicated VM but we can still test building and running it on shift.ovirt.org to eventually be able to host it externally.

I want to share a strange experience with Online v3. I have a personal account and yesterday I received an email of the following content:

Your access to OpenShift Online Starter was removed for account ***@gmail.com due to a prolonged period of inactivity.

My account was removed along with the pods that were running at the point. There was no prior notice and the app I was using on a daily basis is now gone. So we should be really careful when migrating as the free tier seems to be very unreliable and have unclear terms of service.

if all else fails, can we ask on memolist?

I guess there is a group managing that instance somewhere in Red Hat, and there must be some form to get feedback to them...

AFAIR we have a shared ovirt-infra user account to access Online. The OpenSHift Online UI for sure does not allow user access management as that's normally done using the oadm administrative tool. Since the free tier has no support I'm not sure how to open a ticket to grant access to a new member even if that's possible and how long it might take so we better stick to the shared user account for now.

I suppose we need to research the options available when hosting on OpenShift online. Can we have projects that are shared between multiple employees?
